Privacy Policy for AME Libraries

Effective Date: March 6, 2026 Website: www.amelibrary.org

Welcome to the Academic Digital Library (AME Libraries), operated by Pento Academea. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring that your personal information is handled safely and responsibly. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, protect, and handle your data when you use our website and services.

By accessing or using AME Libraries, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

To provide you with a structured and seamless academic experience, we collect the following types of information:

  • Personal Identification Information: When you register for an account or upgrade to a Premium/Premium Plus subscription, we collect your full name and email address.
  • Account & Authentication Data: We securely store your login credentials (encrypted passwords) and session data to keep you logged in while you study.
  • Payment & Transaction Data: When you purchase a subscription, payments are securely processed through our third-party gateway, Paynow. We do not store your credit card or bank account details on our servers. We only store transaction references, payment amounts, and subscription plan tiers to generate ZIMRA-compliant receipts and manage your access.
  • Usage Data: We collect basic information about how you interact with our platform, such as the curriculum levels, subjects, and topics you access, to help us improve our educational resources.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • To Provide Services: To create your account, manage your access levels (Free, Premium, or Premium Plus), and deliver the appropriate academic content.
  • To Process Transactions: To process your subscription payments via Paynow and generate official tax invoices/receipts for your records.
  • To Communicate With You: To send you account updates, password resets, subscription expiry reminders, and respond to your customer support inquiries.
  • To Improve Our Platform: To analyze user behavior and optimize our curriculum layout and content delivery.

3. Data Protection and Security

We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information. Your data is contained behind secured networks and is only accessible by a limited number of persons who have special access rights to such systems and are required to keep the information confidential.

We will never sell, trade, or rent your personal identification information to others.

4. Third-Party Services Integration

We use select third-party services to operate our platform effectively:

  • Payment Gateways (Paynow): All financial transactions are processed securely through Paynow. Please refer to Paynow’s privacy policy for details on how they handle your financial data.
  • Google AdSense: For users accessing our “Free” content tiers, we use Google AdSense to display relevant advertisements. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies (such as the DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads based on your prior visits to our website or other websites on the Internet. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google’s Ads Settings. (Note: Ads are disabled for Premium and Premium Plus members).

5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

AME Libraries uses cookies to enhance your experience. Cookies are small files transferred to your device’s hard drive through your Web browser that enable the site’s systems to recognize your browser and capture certain information.

We primarily use cookies to:

  • Understand and save your preferences for future visits.
  • Keep you securely logged into the portal during your study sessions.
  • Serve targeted advertisements (for free-tier users only) via Google AdSense.

You can choose to have your computer warn you each time a cookie is being sent, or you can choose to turn off all cookies via your browser settings. However, if you disable cookies, some features—such as user login and premium access—will not function properly.

6. Your Data Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction: Request that we correct any inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Deletion: Request the deletion of your account and associated personal data, subject to any legal obligations we have to retain financial transaction records (e.g., ZIMRA compliance).

To exercise any of these rights, please contact our support team.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the “Effective Date” at the top.
